Film Screening: Generation Kunduz: The War of the Others, by Martin Gerner
(1 Honors College Activity point and 1 Intellectual/Cultural point)
In this 2 hour long documentary, I heard the stories of various Afghans and saw how they go about their daily life. In every Afghan that was introduced, each one had the same problem. That being the constant feared of Taliban attacks along with the conflicts that occur due to a foreign military presence. In this film, I was able to see all of these issues play out in the daily life of five young Afghans in Kunduz.
After the film, we were given the opportunity to ask the filmmaker questions about the film and the creation of the film.
Overall, this film screening gave me a greater insight of the Afghans' struggle to live their daily lives when under the constant fear of Taliban attacks.
